Parents as partners

Welcome to Stamford’s top Childcare Centre

Here at Casterton Childcare Centre, we value our partnership with parents. We believe education starts at home and parents are their children’s primary educators. To support this principle we offer a variety of different communication tools for parents. For further enquiries, please call 01780 754780.

Key Person

Each child who joins Casterton will choose their very own key-person within the first few weeks of attending. This person may become part of your extended family as we believe that the children need security, and a key-person holds a firm relationship with both you, as parents and carers, and your child.

Learning Journeys

Your child’s key-person will monitor their progress through obtaining evidence from observations they make from both you and themselves. This will then be used to record their progress via an online Learning Journey called Tapestry. Your child's key person will add photographs and any wow moments they observe during the week. You too can share any adventures you have been on or comment on anything you have seen.

HomeLinks

HomeLinks gives you an insight in to what your child has been doing over a 6 week period. It gives you information about the activities that have been on offer. You can find this on your child's Tapestry account, it also gives you an opportunity to feedback any information that you have noticed about your child's development over that time.

Parent panel

We offer parents the opportunity to join our Parent Panel. The Panel work closely with the Management Team to raise areas of interest, offering responses and views on a range of different strategic developments within the Centre.

Next Steps and Tips

Your child's key person will develop next steps or targets for your child to achieve over a period of time. These can also be found on Tapestry, giving you ideas on how to help your child at home.

Parents’ Evenings

We hold three parents’ evenings a year at Casterton, one each term. This is an informal evening giving parents and carers an  opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with your child’s key person.
