We are extremely passionate about the care and education we provide at Casterton. By offering a wide range of activities under the expert guidance of experienced and highly qualified staff, our nursery encourages all children to do their very best, reaching their full potential.

We open from 7.30 a.m. until 6.00 p.m.  51 weeks of the year, closing over the Christmas period and all bank holidays.

We offer term time only places to all children.

We accommodate children and families from all backgrounds and cultures as well as children who have disabilities or individual needs. We give them the opportunity to develop personally, socially and emotionally, physically, aesthetically and intellectually, having fun as they learn.

Our Aims

At Casterton we aim to provide a welcoming and happy atmosphere where children can thrive. We aim to create an enriching environment and curriculum, filled with purposeful play opportunities and active learning experiences which take account of, and respond to, the children’s growing needs and individual interests.  We strive to build personal partnerships with parents and the local community that encourages and enriches the development of our children, and we aim to inspire all children to become happy, sociable, independent and kind individuals, nurturing their own unique personality.

Our Team

Caring for the children is a passionate and energetic team of professionals, led by Jo Ward. Jo is an Early Years Teacher with a BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and Early Years Professional Status. She is supported by Claire Howard who also holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies. Both Claire and Jo like to take a hands-on approach to their management roles, being in the classroom as much as possible, getting to know the children and their families.  Supporting the Manager and Deputy Manager are four Room Leaders who are on hand to answer any general queries.  The team have or are working towards relevant qualifications ranging from Level 2 to Level 6 and beyond.
